Butler Snow attorney P. Thomas DiStanislao was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation by Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin. DiStanislao’s four-year term began on July 1, 2024.
The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, an educational agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, administers two museums of early American history, the Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. The Foundation’s mission is to foster through its living-history museums an awareness and understanding of the early history, settlement, and development of the United States through the convergence of American Indian, European, and African cultures and the enduring legacies bequeathed to the nation.
DiStanislao is a member of Butler Snow’s Appellate and Written Advocacy, Products, Catastrophic & Industrialized Litigation, and Commercial Litigation practice groups. He has experience defending clients across the country in all stages of litigation in both state and federal courts. He focuses his practice on appellate matters, largely centered on product liability and commercial litigation. Before joining Butler Snow, Thomas clerked for Judge G. Steven Agee on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and Judge Henry E. Hudson on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
DiStanislao is a member of the Federal and Virginia Bar Associations, as well as the Federalist Society and the John Marshall Center and Inn of Court. He was recognized as an Up & Coming Lawyer by Virginia Lawyers Weekly in 2023. DiStanislao earned his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Wake Forest University and his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law.
