Amanda Jones Tollison Named Ole Miss Law Alumna of the Year

The Law Alumni Chapter of the University of Mississippi Alumni Association recently named Butler Snow attorney Amanda Jones Tollison as the 2020 Ole Miss Law Alumna of the Year. Tollison was recognized for leading efforts in promoting attorney well-being and fostering diversity in the law during her term as President of The Mississippi Bar.  Tollison is the only attorney to receive this award twice, as she was named Law Alumna of the Year in 2006 for her service as President of the Young Lawyers Division of The Mississippi Bar where she led the disaster legal assistance program after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Tollison focuses her practice on administrative and environmental law, election and campaign finance, and government relations. Before joining Butler Snow, she served as Counsel to Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour.

Tollison is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been honored by Best Lawyers in America® for Administrative/Regulatory Law and Product Liability Litigation – Defendants and Mid-South Super Lawyers®. She has been an active member of The Mississippi Bar, holding several leadership positions throughout the organization, including serving as President from 2019-2020. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, the National Conference of Bar Presidents, the Lafayette County Bar Association and a fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation.
