As a member of Butler Snow’s Finance and Real Estate Group, Austin focuses his practice on real estate finance, affordable housing finance and complex commercial real estate transactions.
Austin regularly represents lenders in affordable housing and multifamily finance transactions, including USDA Section 538 loans, traditional construction loans, equity bridge loans and permanent loans. He has experience documenting and closing financing transactions involving tax credit developments, rural housing projects, multifamily communities and other income-producing real estate assets, and also advises on Alabama local borrower’s counsel opinions in real estate finance transactions.
In addition to his finance practice, Austin advises clients on commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, site control and development-related transactions. His recent work includes Alabama data center and hyperscale site transactions, giving him practical experience with the real estate, diligence and local execution issues that arise in large-scale technology and infrastructure-driven development projects.
