Colorado Super Lawyers® Recognizes Two Butler Snow Attorneys

Super Lawyers® has recognized two Butler Snow attorneys in its 2021 edition of Colorado Super Lawyers®. David G. Mayhan was named to Colorado Super Lawyers® for personal injury – products: defense and Dillon A. Peters was named to Colorado Rising Stars for mergers and acquisitions.

Super Lawyers® is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a rigorous process, including a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. Only 5% of lawyers in each state or region are named to the Super Lawyers® list and no more than 2.5% are named to the Rising Stars list. Super Lawyers® identifies Rising Stars as those attorneys, 40 years old or younger, who have made exceptional contributions in a particular practice area for 10 years or less.

Mayhan has been practicing law since 1985, and is a member of Butler Snow’s tort, transportation and specialized litigation group. He focuses his practice on construction law, personal injury and product liability, insurance defense and coverage law and commercial litigation. During his career, he has achieved defense verdicts in construction and commercial law trials and arbitrations, prosecuted counterclaims related to construction defects and obtained summary judgment for third-party defendants in large complex defect claims.

Mayhan is a member of the American, Colorado and Minnesota Bar Associations, the Faculty of Federal Advocates, Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and the Colorado Catholic Lawyers Guild. He has been recognized by Colorado Super Lawyers® for personal injury – products: defense since 2008, by Best Lawyers® for mass tort litigation/class actions – defendants since 2015 and was named Lawyer of the Year for personal injury litigation – defendants in Denver in 2020. Mayhan is also AV-Preeminent Peer Review rated by Martindale Hubbell®. Mayhan is licensed to practice in Colorado, Minnesota, U.S. District Court, District of Colorado and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. He received his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa.

Peters is a member of Butler Snow’s public finance, tax incentives and credit markets practice group and focuses his practice on public finance including securities regulation, bond issuances and financing transactions. He also frequently represents public and private companies in both buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions.

Peters is a member of the American and Colorado Bar Associations and is licensed to practice in Colorado. He has been recognized as a Colorado Rising Star for mergers and acquisitions since 2018. Peters received his undergraduate degree from Dordt College and his Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming.
