Butler Snow Adds Two Government Relations Advisors to Austin, Texas Office

Butler Snow LLP is pleased to announce Carley Butler and Esme Thoman have joined the firm’s Austin, Texas, office as Senior Government Relations Advisors. As members of the firm’s Regulatory & Government Group, Butler and Thoman will bring their combined 30-plus years of government relations, public policy and corporate experience to benefit Butler Snow’s clients.

In 2018, Butler and Thoman founded Thoman & Butler LLC, a Texas-based governmental affairs firm with a focus on creating business development tactics and defining public affairs initiatives for clients.

Butler brings nearly twenty years of experience leading teams and directing regulatory initiatives in governmental affairs, having previously served as vice president at a leading government relations group. She attended the Stephen F. Austin State University Rusche School of Business and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management.

Thoman is a Certified Public Accountant with more than ten years of experience working in government affairs and politics and providing strategic counsel for a wide variety of industries. Prior to serving as a government relations consultant and lobbyist, Thoman worked as a CPA and investment banking consultant for the global accounting firm Ernst & Young LLP.

Thoman is currently a member of the Finance Committee with Texas Exes Board of Directors. She attended The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance & Accounting and a Master’s in Professional Accounting.
