About
Chad’s practice centers on written advocacy in complex product liability, mass tort, and consumer protection litigation, including some of the nation’s largest MDLs. Chad has defended clients at every stage of litigation in federal and state court, from removals and responsive pleadings to dispositive and post-trial motions. Through his work in the Ethicon pelvic mesh MDL, Chad also gained extensive experience coordinating with trial teams to prepare pre-trial submissions, including motions in limine and trial briefs. As a former long-term judicial clerk, Chad is an appellate-minded litigator with an eye for precise, persuasive advocacy, and he has successfully defended summary judgment victories on appeal in the Eighth and Eleventh Circuits.
From 2013-2018, he clerked for Chief Justice William L. Waller of the Supreme Court of Mississippi. He also served as a legal writing adjunct professor at Mississippi College School of Law from 2013-2015.
Chad is the co-author of Mississippi Appellate Practice (MLI Press 2021) and the Appellate Practice & Procedure chapter of the Encyclopedia of Mississippi Law, and he frequently authors articles on litigation-related topics for Butler Snow’s Pro Te: Solutio. He is a member of the Capital Area Bar Association, Mississippi Bar Association, American Bar Association and Jackson Young Lawyers.
He obtained his J.D., cum laude, from Mississippi College School of Law and B.S.B.A., with honors, from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is admitted to practice in Mississippi.
