Marshall A. Bowen Appointed to City of Austin’s Electric Utility Commission

Butler Snow attorney Marshall A. Bowen has been appointed as a Commissioner to the City of Austin’s Electric Utility Commission by the Austin City Council. As a Commissioner, Bowen will review and analyze all policies and procedures of the electric utility including the electric rate structure, fuel costs and charges, customer services, capital investments, new generation facilities and more. His term will run through Feb. 28, 2025. Click here for more information about the Commission.

Bowen is a member of Butler Snow’s Appellate and Commercial Litigation groups. Prior to joining Butler Snow, Bowen clerked at the Supreme Court of Texas and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. He has also worked as a public affairs consultant and in public policy in the Texas Legislature.

Bowen received his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, his master’s from St. Mary’s University and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from St. Mary’s University School of Law.
