Butler Snow attorney D. Todd Smith is set to present “Collections During Appeal and Attacking the Negative Net Worth Affidavit” on Friday, May 7 at the Texas Bar Collections and Creditors’ Rights CLE. Smith has successfully contested negative net-worth affidavits filed to supersede money judgments and will discuss best practices for the challenge. A member of Butler Snow’s Appellate group, Smith represents clients as lead appellate counsel and works with trial teams in all phases of civil litigation. He is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been recognized by Super Lawyers® since 2013.
Smith is the Austin Bar’s immediate past president. During his term, he spearheaded creation of the Lawyer Well-Being Committee, which aims to educate, support and connect the Austin legal community to achieve more balanced, mindful and joyful lives and practices. He currently chairs the Austin Bar Foundation and serves on the State Bar’s Board of Directors.
