Scott K. Field to Co-Present Webcast for State Bar of Texas

Scott K. Field will co-present during an upcoming live webcast titled “Anti SLAPP Update: Recent Legislative and Case Law Developments” on Thursday, August 29 from 2 to 3 p.m. Presented by the Texas State Bar and Texas Bar College, Field, along with two other attorneys, will discuss an overview of the statute, provide case law updates and moderate a comprehensive discussion of recent legislative changes and how those could affect legal practices.

Field is a member of the firm’s litigation department and primarily practices within the appellate and written advocacy and commercial litigation groups. Prior to joining the firm, he served a six-year term as Justice of the Texas Court of Appeals, Third District. Field also has experience from private practice where he handled all levels of trial and appellate matters in federal and state courts, represented individuals and institutions in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including contract and insurance disputes, and represented ERISA plans with disability and medical claims. He now uses his experience as a judge and as an appellate and trial attorney in advising clients from the outset of litigation through the conclusion of the appellate process.

Field is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Austin Bar Association, the Federalist Society and the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society. He serves on the board of directors for the Texas Aggie Bar Association and is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Austin Bar Foundation. Field received his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University and his Juris Doctor, with honors, from The University of Texas School of Law.
