Butler Snow is pleased to announce that Anita Modak-Truran will speak at the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel’s 15 th Annual Corporate Counsel Symposium.
The seminar takes place Sept. 16-18 at the Loew’s Hotel in Philadelphia. Anita will lead an afternoon session titled “A Close Up on Legal Ethics and Professionalism Through a Movie Lens” that focuses on how lawyers should and should not conduct themselves in their professional careers by spotlighting the best and worst movies in the legal genre.
Anita is the team leader of the firm’s entertainment and media industry team. She works on a wide variety of business and litigation matters in the entertainment and media industry, including representing motion picture and television companies, television stations, newspapers, record labels, music companies, and talent. Anita is also a member of the firm’s pharmaceutical, medical device, and healthcare litigation group. Throughout her career, she has tried more than 100 cases in state and federal courts.
Anita is AV-Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell® and has been recognized by Super Lawyers® as a Mid-South Super Lawyer for entertainment and sports. She has also been recognized by Best Lawyers® for entertainment law – motion pictures and television and was named the 2019 Lawyer of the Year for her work in trademark law. Anita received her undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and her Juris Doctor from Loyola University.
