Shea and O’Bryan Named Practice Group Leaders

Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC (Butler Snow) Attorneys Kara E. Shea and William R. O’Bryan, Jr., were recently named to leadership positions within the firm. Shea is now the Labor and Employment Practice Group Leader and O’Bryan was named Practice Group Leader of the Financial Services Litigation Subgroup.

Shea focuses her practice on employment training and counseling, intellectual property law, employment litigation, class and collective action, and labor and employment compliance counseling. She has been named in The Best Lawyers in America, Employment Law – Management, Chambers USA, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Nashville Business Journal’s 2012 Best of the Bar, and in 2011 was named to Nashville’s Top 101 Lawyers. Shea has extensive trial and appellate experience in Tennessee and around the county. She regularly counsels clients on employment law compliance in the financial services, health care and home health industries. Shea completed her undergraduate education at Boston University and her Juris Doctorate at Vanderbilt University.  She’s a member of the American Bar Association, the Nashville Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Society for Human Resource Management and the Employers Counsel Network, where she serves as Tennessee’s Representative.

O’Bryan is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group and the Banking, Real Estate and Financial Services Group. He focuses his practice on general litigation, banking law, business reorganization and creditors’ rights, professional liability defense, financial services, and securities litigation. He is an AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized in Mid-South Super Lawyers for Business Litigation and The Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights. O’Bryan is a graduate of Wabash College and earned his Juris Doctorate at Vanderbilt University. He’s a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Nashville Bar Association, and the Turnaround Management Association.
