Experienced Litigator Luther Munford Joins Butler Snow

Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC (Butler Snow) is pleased to announce Luther T. Munford has joined the Greater Jackson, Miss. office.

Munford is a member of the firm’s Appellate and Written Advocacy Practice Group. His practice focuses on appellate litigation, media law, constitutional law, and professional and product liability.

“Luther is an excellent attorney who is well known across Mississippi, the Southeast and throughout the nation,” said Donald Clark, Jr., Chairman, Butler Snow. “His addition will certainly strengthen our Appellate team and add additional value to the services we offer clients.”

Munford is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and completed undergraduate degrees at both Oxford University and Princeton University. After law school, he clerked for Harry A. Blackmun, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. He is listed in the Mississippi litigation sections of both Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business® and The Best Lawyers in America®. In 2012, Munford was recognized by Best Lawyers as Mississippi’s “Lawyer of the Year” for First Amendment law. He has also been listed in Mid-South Super Lawyers®.

Munford is a member of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, American Bar Association, Mississippi Bar Association, and the Mississippi Code of Judicial Conduct Study Committee, which he currently chairs. He is also the editor of The Appellate Advocate, a publication of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, an organization of which he is a past-president. His book, Mississippi Appellate Practice, is now in its eighth edition.
