Daniel’s practice is concentrated in the following areas, with a particular emphasis on technology and advanced manufacturing companies.
Commercial Development and Financing
- Represents developers and private users in the acquisition, construction, leasing, financing and development of commercial office buildings, commercial, residential and resort condominiums, manufacturing facilities, research projects, warehouse and industrial projects, including industrial development tax abatements and industrial site grants
- Specializes in the structuring of “public/private” developments in downtown urban areas
- Regularly advises clients on ownership and equity structure, financing, leasing, construction, land use planning, zoning, title, permitting and subdivision issues
- Represents lenders in all types of commercial lending, including asset-based lines of credit, real estate development and construction, letter of credit financing, tax incentives, industrial development financing, leveraged leasing, and government contract financing
Economic Development and Public Incentives
- Advises clients in connection with the relocation or expansion of operations utilizing state and local economic development incentives, including economic development grants, training and recruiting incentives, tax abatements and credits, and the structuring of capital and job commitments and recaptures
Government Relations
- Represents and advises private companies on federal and state governmental and political matters
- Advises campaigns on the establishment and maintenance of federal campaign organizations
Experience
- Represented Joint Venture of 2 large international automobile manufacturers in connection with a $1.4Billion joint manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, AL, including negotiation of State and Local incentives and all real estate and land use planning
- Represented Iconic U.S. Firearms Manufacturer in connection with consolidation and relocation of manufacturing Facilities in Huntsville, AL, including negotiation of all state and local incentives in connection with a $250M development
- Represented national developer in connection with the acquisition of 100 acre site and development of a $300M mixed use retail, entertainment and multi-family project
- Represented one of the largest retailers in U.S. in connection with development of the then-largest distribution center in Alabama
- Represented Regional Homebuilder in connection with the sale of all homebuilding assets to one of the largest national homebuilders in the U.S.
- Representing Regional Developer in connection with the development of an approximately 700 acre mixed use development in Madison, Al, including single family, multi-family, retail, entertainment, and hospitality Center, including a AA Minor League Baseball stadium and franchise
- Representing a Regional Developer in connection with the developer of a 600 acre retail and lifestyle center community Planned Unit Development in Madison County, AL, including formation the master plan and business, residential and commercial districts
- Represented developers in the development and construction of two office towers in downtown Huntsville, AL
- President of Campaign Organization for a United States Senator 2012-2020; handled all FEC compliance and business operations of campaign organization
