Butler Snow Attorney Jefferson K. B. Stancill Named Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys

Butler Snow LLP is pleased to announce that attorney Jefferson K. B. Stancill has been named a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA), a prestigious organization recognizing leading practitioners in real estate mortgage law. As a Fellow, Stancill will have access to a national network of leading mortgage law practitioners, along with opportunities to contribute to continuing legal education programs, participate in substantive committees, and collaborate on emerging issues impacting the real estate finance industry. He will be formally inducted into the College at its 2026 Annual Meeting.

Jefferson K. B. Stancill

Stancill is a business lawyer with a primary focus on middle market transactions, with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, finance and commercial transactions, corporate law, bank regulation, and real estate development and finance. He advises boards of directors and management teams on complex business combinations, capital strategy, and financing matters, and regularly represents financial institutions, lenders, and borrowers in sophisticated transactions across the Southeast.

With particular experience advising banks and financial institutions, Stancill frequently counsels clients on mergers and acquisitions, shareholder matters, regulatory issues, and commercial lending transactions. He also leads significant deal work across a variety of industries, including banking and financial services, healthcare, technology, and real estate.

Stancill’s admission as a Fellow of ACMA reflects the high regard in which he is held by his peers as an experienced, knowledgeable, and distinguished practitioner in the field of real estate mortgage law. Fellowship in the College is by invitation only and is extended to attorneys who demonstrate excellence in their practice, professionalism, and a commitment to advancing the legal profession and their communities.

In addition to his practice, Stancill is actively involved in professional and civic leadership. He serves as a Mississippi commissioner on the Uniform Laws Commission and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He has also been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for Business Organizations and Commercial Finance Law and named “Lawyer of the Year” in Commercial Finance Law (Jackson, MS).
