Craig T. Enoch, retired Texas Supreme Court justice and attorney in Butler Snow’s Austin office, recently moderated the Texas Bar CLE webinar,“Texas Supreme Court Update: August 2026,” on Wednesday, August 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CT. The CLE featured a distinguished panel of legal professionals who discussed recent decisions issued by the Texas Supreme Court and their implications for practitioners across the state.

Craig Enoch returned to private practice after retiring from decades of service on Texas courts, where he decided complex civil matters as a Supreme Court Justice, Appellate Court Chief Justice and Trial Court Presiding Judge. On completing his judicial service, Justice Enoch established specialized Appellate and Government Enforcement and Regulated Industries Litigation Practice Groups for a major regional law firm headquartered in Dallas, Texas. His experience includes representing businesses before judicial, administrative, and legislative governmental bodies.
As a neutral arbitrator, he has guided decisions on matters ranging from disputes over utility construction and purchase contracts to employee benefit agreements and estate claims. Since returning to private practice, Justice Enoch has participated in hundreds of appeals and has developed noted expertise on the existence, nature, and extent of fiduciary obligations. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law, maintains his membership in the College of the State Bar, is a long-time member of the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society, and an active bar educator, writing and speaking at numerous Texas State Bar educational programs throughout the years.
Justice Enoch’s extensive knowledge of Texas government and regulatory processes makes him particularly well-suited to assist clients seeking to engage with state agencies, navigate legislative developments, and pursue advocacy efforts. His leadership and legal acumen have earned him recognition as a leading legal authority in Texas. In 2018, he was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to lead the Texas Commission on Public School Finance to study school finance policy, where he served as the leading voice on education reform during the 86th Texas Legislature. Justice Enoch is also an active member of several education reform organizations and is considered a preeminent voice on education policy.
