Butler Snow attorney Kathryn K. Van Namen has been named to the Best of the Bar by the Memphis Business Journal. The Best of the Bar honors the best and brightest in the legal field in Memphis across a range of practice industries. Nominations are submitted by the public, and the honorees were chosen based on tangible accomplishments, status in their practice area and their impact on their firms and Memphis and its legal community, among other factors.
Van Namen is a member of Butler Snow’s Commercial Litigation practice group. She is licensed to practice law in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas and concentrates her practice in the areas of general and commercial civil litigation. She routinely handles breach of contract suits, product liability cases, intellectual property matters and business tort claims including lender liability, unfair competition, theft of trade secrets and fraud and other complex litigation. She also has extensive experience counseling and representing clients in all aspects of the construction industry, including contract negotiations, project management issues and complex construction litigation. Van Namen is a member of the firm’s Recruiting Committee and the lead coordinator for the firm’s Women’s Initiative in Memphis.
Van Namen received her undergraduate degrees, summa cum laude, from Delta State University and her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Mississippi, where she was an editor of the Mississippi Law Journal and a member of the Moot Court Board.
