Anita Modak-Truran Elected Vice President of Trial Attorneys of America

Butler Snow attorney Anita Modak-Truran has been elected Vice President and Program Coordinator for the Trial Attorneys of America (TAA). After her 2022 term, she will ascend to President for 2023-2024. The TAA was founded in 1969 and is limited to 200 trial attorneys who devote a substantial portion of their practice to the defense of product liability litigation and to corporate counsel who work primarily in that area. Click here to learn more about the TAA.

Modak-Truran focuses her practice on representing pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in mass tort and individual cases pending across the country. For the past decade, she has been responsible for the national coordination of case specific discovery in mass tort actions involving pelvic mesh products. In addition to managing and strategizing the work up of cases for trial, Modak-Truran has tried over 100 cases in state and federal courts. She has served as trial counsel in high stakes and bet-the-company cases. Her most recent jury trials have involved high exposure product liability actions in state and federal courts.

Modak-Truran is a Grammy Member of The Recording Academy and is active in a number of professional organizations, including the Defense Research Institute, Trial Attorneys of America, the Tennessee Intellectual Property Law Association, Media Law Resource Center, Tennessee Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Law and Entertainment and Sports Law Sections, and Tennessee Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts. She is a Fellow of the American Bar Association and a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel.
