Michael J. Busada Appointed Co-Chair of National Association of Bond Lawyers Governmental Affairs Committee

Butler Snow attorney Michael J. Busada has been appointed Co-Chair of the National Association of Bond Lawyers’ (NABL) Governmental Affairs Committee by the organization’s president. Busada previously served as the committee’s Vice Chair.

The NABL works to promote the integrity of the municipal market through the education of its members in the laws affecting state and municipal bonds. The organization’s Governmental Affairs Committee encourages, facilitates and involves NABL members in educating federal policymakers and staff about the importance of tax-exempt bonds to state and local governments. Busada practices with Butler Snow’s Public Finance, Tax Incentives and Credit Markets practice group and represents local government, school districts 501(c)(3)s and major companies in public finance and economic development matters.

Busada is a member of the Committee of 100 for Economic Development and was appointed by the Governor of Louisiana to serve on the state’s Resilient Louisiana Commission’s Economic and Community Development Task Force. Busada also serves on the boards of directors of several local organizations including the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, the Shreveport-Bossier Military Affairs Council and the Red River Valley Association. He received his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and his Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
