Christopher D. Morris Appointed to Committees of Mississippi Bar and IADC

Butler Snow attorney Christopher D. Morris has been appointed to committees of The Mississippi Bar and the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC).

Morris was appointed to the Bar’s Professionalism Committee for 2021-2022 by the Bar’s president. The Professionalism Committee is responsible for monitoring and studying developments in the area of professionalism and making recommendations to the Board of Commissioners. The Committee also makes recommendations to the Board regarding programs to improve client and attorney relations, the image of the profession and the quality of life of lawyers as they relate to professionalism.

Morris was also appointed Vice Chair of Communications for the IADC Drug, Device and Biotechnology Committee. The committee serves as an educational and networking resource for in-house counsel employed by pharmaceutical, medical device and biotech manufacturers and the outside counsel who serve those companies. The Committee is active in sponsoring CLE programs at IADC meetings and publishes a monthly newsletter that addresses recent developments.

Morris focuses his practice on defending pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in mass tort and individual cases in various state and federal venues throughout the country. He has significant experience in addressing complex discovery in mass tort litigation. Morris has been recognized by Super Lawyers® as a Mid-South Rising Star for Personal Injury – Products: Defense and by Martindale Hubbell® with an AV-Preeminent Peer Review Rating.

Morris is a member of the Mississippi Bar, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Fifth Circuit Bar Association, the Capital Area Bar Association, the International Association of Defense Counsel and DRI. He received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Memphis and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi.
