Butler Snow is the 2021 recipient of the U.S. Captive Review Award for Legal Services. A new category this year, the Legal Services award recognizes contributions to the captive market through legal expertise and innovation, strategic vision and business winning client care.

Whitehouse served as supervising attorney and assistant general counsel for insurance for the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance. He provided legal advice on the regulation and formation of new captive insurance companies based in Tennessee and was responsible for drafting legislation, administrative rules and policy advice on proposed statutory and regulatory changes governing captive insurance companies in Tennessee.
