Tray Hairston to Present on Ethics in Economic Development

Butler Snow attorney Tray Hairston will teach “Ethics in Economic Development” as part of the True South Basic Economic Development Course on Tuesday, Sept. 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. Held at the University of Southern Mississippi’s Trent Lott National Center for Excellence in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship, the session will elaborate on ethics and help participants work through case studies to better understand ethics and economic development, as ethical behavior is conduct that is beyond reproach and is in accordance to the common standards of a society, institution, or organization. As organizations and institutions evolve, underscoring the need for regular education about acceptable conduct in the profession and the organization is needed to ensure long-term growth and development.

Hairston concentrates his practice on public finance and economic development matters, including all types of municipal bond issues, serving as bond counsel for both taxable and tax-exempt financings. He has served as bond counsel for various cities and counties and has worked on transactions totaling more than $100 million.
