Butler Snow attorney Edderek L. (Beau) Cole has been named Chair of The Mississippi Bar’s Public Information Committee for the 2021-2022 fiscal year. The Public Information Committee maintains and develops programs and resource materials for disseminating to the public concerning the law, the legal profession and our system of justice. They also oversee the Bar’s media relations strategy, and along with Bar staff, serve as the Bar’s liaison with the media covering the law, the legal profession and our system of justice.

Cole is a member of Butler Snow’s Products, Catastrophic & Industrial Litigation group. He has represented major consumer product manufacturers, small businesses and numerous Fortune 100 companies in various litigated matters.  Cole is an experienced trial attorney with recognized success defending everything from small, but emotionally charged matters to high stakes “bet the company” litigation in some of the country’s most volatile venues.

Cole earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Juris Doctorate from the Mississippi College School of Law. He is AV-Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell® and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® and as a Mid-South Super Lawyer® and Rising StarCole is actively involved across the community and profession, including being nominated and confirmed by the Mississippi Supreme Court to serve on the Mississippi Access to Justice Committee. He is the recipient of the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers’ Program Curtis E. Coker Award to Justice, the Capital Area Bar Association Pro Bono Award and the State of Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service Award, among others. Cole is a member of the Hinds County Bar Association, Magnolia Bar Association and Defense Research Institute.
