Butler Snow attorney Sean M. McGuinness is set to participate in upcoming virtual International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL) legal seminars.
On Monday, March 1, he will present on Colorado regulatory matters at the “Sports Betting Jurisdictional Update” IMGL Masterclass.
On Tuesday, March 2, McGuinness will then participate in “Regulating Online Gaming in Federal Countries: Challenges and Opportunities” as part of the SBC Digital Latin America conference. The session will examine the main issues that may be expected to arise from regulation in federal countries and how they can be avoided. More information about the conference can be found here.
McGuinness will also moderate a panel on Monday, March 8 titled “Brick and Mortar Gaming in a Post-COVID World” as part of the IMGL 2021 Spring Conference. This panel will explore the legal challenges and opportunities affected by COVID-19, including discussing risks for increased taxes, reduced regulatory burden, economic stimulus to support gaming, continuing legal liability for COVID related outbreaks and more. McGuinness is a member of the firm’s gaming industry team and focuses his practice primarily on commercial gaming matters in Colorado, Iowa, Nevada and Mississippi, and tribal gaming matters. He also has experience with gaming bankruptcy matters.
