Elizabeth E. Thomas Appointed to Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council

Butler Snow attorney Elizabeth E. Thomas has been appointed to the Financial Accounting Foundation’s Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council (GASAC). GASAC advises and consults with the Governmental Accounting Standards Board and is composed of members who are broadly representative of preparers, attestors and users of financial information. Elizabeth represents the National Association of Bond Lawyers on the Council.

Elizabeth is a member of Butler Snow’s Public Finance, Tax Incentives & Credit Markets group. She primarily focuses her practice on municipal bonds, governmental relations, public finance and economic development incentives. Elizabeth is BV®-Distinguished™ by Martindale-Hubbell® and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® for Public Finance Law.

Elizabeth is a member of the American Bar Association, The Mississippi Bar, the National Association of Women Lawyers, the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the Mississippi Municipal League, the Mississippi Association of County Board Attorneys, Hinds County, Mississippi Bar Association and Hancock County, Mississippi Bar Association. She received her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, and Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Florida State University College of Law and her Master of Law in taxation, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law.
