La’Toyia J. Slay Named Top 50 Under 40 Finalist by Mississippi Business Journal

Butler Snow attorney La’Toyia J. Slay has been recognized as a finalist in the Mississippi Business Journal’s 2020 Top 50 Under 40 awards. The award recognizes 50 up-and-coming business leaders under the age of 40 in Mississippi. The full list of winners can be viewed here.

Slay is a member of Butler Snow’s commercial litigation group and focuses her practice on commercial litigation, business torts and unfair competition, toxic tort litigation and insurance coverage. She has been recognized as One to Watch by Best Lawyers in America® for Commercial Litigation and as a Mid-South Rising Star by Super Lawyers® for Business Litigation.

Slay currently serves as the Past President for Jackson Young Lawyers and as the Nominations Chair for Mississippi’s Young Lawyers Division. She also serves on the board for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, as a member of Junior League of Jackson, and recently participated in Best Dressed Jackson. Additionally, Slay is a graduate of Leadership Greater Jackson.

Slay served as an adjunct writing professor at Mississippi College School of Law (MC Law) where she earned her juris doctor. At MC Law, Slay graduated as Valedictorian and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. At graduation, she was awarded with the Dean’s Award. She received her undergraduate degree in political science from Sewanee: The University of the South.
