Randall D. McClanahan to Moderate ABA Webinar on Audit Response Letters

Butler Snow attorney Randall D. McClanahan is set to moderate a webinar presented by the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. EST. The webinar, titled “Fundamentals of Audit Response Letters in 2020,” will provide a general overview of the preparation of audit responses by attorneys and will include: (i) a history of pertinent guidance; (ii) explanation of the concept of audit response letters and their purpose; (iii) analysis of appropriate and inappropriate inclusions in audit responses; (iv) procedures to be followed in preparing audit responses and (v) current developments. McClanahan is a member of Butler Snow’s business services group and focuses his practice on corporate law, federal tax law, executive compensation, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital and private equity transactions. He is also a licensed CPA in Alabama and Georgia.

McClanahan is a member of the American, Alabama and Birmingham Bar Associations, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is chair of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section’s Audit Response Committee and is also a representative of the National Conference of Lawyers and CPAs. McClanahan has been recognized by Best Lawyers® for tax law since 2016 and is AV-Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell®. He was also named Best of the Bar by the Birmingham Business Journal this year. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Auburn University, a master’s of tax accounting from the University of Alabama, an MBA from Duke University and a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
