Andrea La’Verne Edney Inducted into Two International Legal Societies

Butler Snow attorney Andrea La’Verne Edney has been inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL) and the International Society of Barristers (ISOB).

Established in 1954, IATL’s general purposes are to cultivate the science of jurisprudence, promote reforms in the law, facilitate the Administration of Justice and elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession. Fellowship is by invitation only, and Fellow candidates are attorneys who have achieved a career of excellence as shown by their skills in trial, and as demonstrated by their integrity and professionalism. All candidates undergo a rigorous vetting process, which includes peer and judicial reviews.

Since 1965, ISOB has been dedicated to preserving trial by jury, the adversary system and an independent judiciary. Attorneys inducted into the society are outstanding trial lawyers chosen by their peers on the basis of excellence and integrity in advocacy.

Edney practices within the pharmaceutical, medical device and health care litigation group. With more than 23 years of litigation experience, she has significant trial experience in state and federal courts in Mississippi and other states and has tried to verdict numerous cases.

Edney is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Mississippi Bar Foundation. She is a member of the Mississippi, American, Capital Area, Fifth Circuit and Tennessee Bar Associations. Edney received her undergraduate degree from Alcorn State University and her Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law.
