Melody McAnally Appointed Vice Chair of ABA TIPS Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee

Butler Snow attorney Melody McAnally has been appointed Vice Chair of the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section, or TIPS, Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Committee for 2019-2020. The committee serves to educate members about cybersecurity and privacy issues which they or their clients may encounter on a daily basis in the course of their legal practices.

McAnally is a member of Butler Snow’s commercial litigation group and focuses her practice on data privacy and security. She is a Co-Team Leader of the firm’s Data Security and privacy team, and advises clients on data security protection, data breach response and cyber-risk management. McAnally is a regular contributor to Butler Snow’s commercial litigation blog, https://www.butlersnow.com/category/blogs/bizlitnews/, on data privacy and security issues. She is AV-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® for Commercial Litigation, as well as Mid-South Super Lawyers® and Mid-South Rising Stars® in business litigation. The American Lawyer and Corporate Counsel named McAnally a top-rated lawyer in commercial litigation in 2013. She is also a Fellow of the American Bar Association.

McAnally is a member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Memphis Bar Association, Association of Women Attorneys and Mississippi Bar Association. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Mississippi College where she was Editor-in-Chief of Law Review.
