Butler Snow Attorney Randall D. McClanahan Appointed Chair of the American Bar Association Business Law Section’s Audit Responses Committee

Butler Snow attorney Randall D. McClanahan has been appointed chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Business Law Section’s Audit Responses Committee. McClanahan will serve a three-year term.

The mission of the Audit Responses Committee is to serve as a resource for lawyers’ responses to audit inquiries and related financial reports and disclosure issues, focusing on implementation of the “treaty” reached with accountants in the ABA statement of policy regarding audit responses. The ABA’s Business Law Section is a global network of approximately 50,000 business law professionals interested in expanding professional knowledge, engaging with professional communities and advancing experiences.

McClanahan is a member of Butler Snow’s business services group. He focuses his practice on corporate law, federal tax law, executive compensation, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital and private equity transactions. He is also a licensed CPA in Alabama and Georgia. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers® for tax law and is AV-Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell®.

McClanahan is a member of the American, Alabama and Birmingham Bar Associations, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is currently serving as representative to the National Conference of Lawyers and CPAs. McClanahan earned his bachelor’s in accounting, cum laude, from Auburn University, his master’s of tax accounting from the University of Alabama, his MBA from Duke University and his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
