Butler Snow Attorney Christopher S. Berdy Named Chair of International Association of Defense Counsel’s Continuing Legal Education Committee

Butler Snow attorney Christopher S. Berdy has been named chair of the International Association of Defense Counsel’s (IADC) Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee for the 2019-2020 year.

The committee is responsible for evaluating, approving and steering CLE programs developed by the IADC, including CLE programming presented at the annual and midyear meetings, webinars and other programs.

Berdy has been an active member of the IADC through the years, having served in the following roles: chair of the Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee; chair of the 2014 Annual Meeting CLE Steering Committee; chair of the In-house and Law Firm Management Committee; chair of the Alabama State Membership Committee; co-chair of the IADC and The Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel’s Joint Law Firm Management Conference; and as a faculty member of the IADC’s 46th Annual Trial Academy.

Berdy is a member of Butler Snow’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare and Product Liability practice groups. He focuses his practice on pharmaceutical, medical device and general product liability and personal injury defense, as well as complex business and commercial disputes and business torts.

Berdy is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Food and Drug Law Institute and the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association. He received his bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University and his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law.
