Butler Snow Attorney Heather Ladner Smith Named to Top 10 of Mississippi Business Journal’s Top 50 Under 40

Butler Snow is pleased to announce Heather Ladner Smith has been named to the Top 10 of Mississippi Business Journal’s Top 50 Under 40.

Each year, Mississippi Business Journal highlights 50 of the state’s best and brightest up-and-coming business leaders under the age of 40. The elite group was honored at an awards ceremony and luncheon on April 25 at the Old Capitol Inn in Jackson, Miss.

“We congratulate Heather on this recognition,” said Donald Clark, Jr., chairman of Butler Snow. “Her hard work and dedication to excellent client service, community involvement and strong leadership make her a very deserving recipient of this award.”

Smith is a member of Butler Snow’s regulatory and government relations practice group. She focuses her practice on governmental law, school law, governmental relations, administrative law and commercial real estate. Smith serves as city attorney for Bay St. Louis and as board attorney for Hancock County Solid Waste Authority, Hancock County Utility Authority, Pearl River County Utility Authority and the Mississippi Coast Transportation Authority. She has also served as legal counsel to the Office of Gov. Haley Barbour. Additionally, Smith serves as pro bono legal counsel for CASA of Hancock County.

Smith is a member of the American Bar Association, The Mississippi Bar, the Hancock County Bar Associations and the Harrison County Bar Association. She received her bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and her Juris Doctor from Loyola University.
