Thomson Reuters Louisiana Super Lawyers® Recognizes 2 Butler Snow Attorneys

Hootsell was named to Thomson Reuters Louisiana Super Lawyers® for business litigation and Parker was been named to Louisiana Rising Stars for government finance.

Only 5 percent of lawyers in each state or region are named to the Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers® list and no more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list. Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers® identifies Rising Stars as those attorneys, 40 years old or younger, who have made exceptional contributions in a particular practice area for 10 years or less.

Hootsell concentrates his practice on bankruptcy, restructuring and commercial litigation. He represents clients in commercial contract disputes, defense of lien rights, acquisitions and financial litigation matters. Hootsell has been recognized by Thomson Reuters Louisiana Super Lawyers® for business litigation since 2007, by Best Lawyers® for bankruptcy and creditor debtor rights law/insolvency and reorganization law and litigation – bankruptcy, by Chambers USA for bankruptcy/restructuring – Louisiana and by Martindale-Hubbell® with an AV-Preeminent Peer Review rating. He is also board certified in business bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification and as a business and bankruptcy law specialist by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization.

Hootsell is a member of the Federal, American, Louisiana State and New Orleans Bar Associations, the Louisiana Bankers Association and the International Association of Defense Counsel. He received both his bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University.

Parker focuses his practice in the areas of public finance and economic development. He regularly serves as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, purchaser’s counsel, and in other roles on tax-exempt and taxable financings. Parker has assisted clients with financings in the governmental, senior living, healthcare, affordable housing, university, charter school, and private school sectors. Parker also assists governmental, nonprofit and for-profit entities negotiate and structure economic development incentives.

Parker is a member of the American, Louisiana State and Baton Rouge Bar Associations, the National Association of Bond Lawyers and the Federalist Society. Parker served as a Teach for America Corps Member, is Vice Chair of Education’s Next Horizon in Louisiana and was recently selected as an Education Changemaker by New Schools for Baton Rouge. He received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and his master’s in public administration and Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina.
