Christopher D. Morris to Speak at American Bar Association’s Regional CLE Program

Butler Snow is pleased to announce Christopher D. Morris will speak at the American Bar Association’s Regional CLE Program focused on current issues in pharmaceutical, medical device and biotech litigation on Nov. 9 at Merck & Co. Inc. in North Wales, Pa.

Chris will participate in a panel discussion titled “E-Discovery and Data at Trial.” The panel will focus on identifying how to work through the challenging e-discovery issues that prevent themselves during the course of mass tort proceedings. They will also discuss negotiating the discovery plan, addressing spoliation concerns, electronic search methodologies for identifying relevant information, the risks, and benefits of using cloud-based document repositories, proportionality rules and decisions and international discovery and privacy issues, including the impact of the EU’s general data protection regulations. The panelists will also discuss how to use electronic data at trial, evidentiary issues, authentication and creative solutions for presenting data to a jury.

Chris focuses his practice on defending pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in mass tort and individual cases in various state and federal venues throughout the country. He has significant experience in coordinating multi-tiered discovery in mass tort litigation. Chris has been recognized by Super Lawyers® as a Mid-South Rising Star for Personal Injury – Products: Defense and by Martindale Hubbell® with an AV-Preeminent Peer Review Rating.

Chris is a member of the Mississippi Bar, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Fifth Circuit Bar Association, the Capital Area Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute and the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association. He received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Memphis and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi.
