Charles E. Griffin Served on CABA Diversity Committee Panel

Butler Snow is pleased to announce that Charles E. Griffin served on the Capital Bar Association (CABA) Diversity Committee’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) panel titled “Civil Rights & the Legal Profession.” The panel discussion was on Tuesday, March 27 at the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum.

The 20-30 minute panel discussion provided context on what practicing law was like in the early years, including access to justice for minority Mississippian and civil rights efforts.

Attorneys in Mississippi play a significant role in civil rights, and in ensuring that all people have equal access to justice in the state of Mississippi. While there has been progress, there is much more to do. After the panel discussion, attendees were welcomed to tour the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, a preeminent museum dedicated to the history of the American civil rights movement.

The CABA is a voluntary bar association that serves Hinds County and the metropolitan areas of Madison and Rankin Counties. The CABA’s mission is to promote and maintain among its members high standards of professional services and conduct toward clients, fellow lawyers, the public and the courts; to promote the efficient administration of justice through constant review of the law ensuring the highest quality integrity on the bench; to furnish a forum in which problems of the lawyer and the administration of justice generally can be studied and discussed; to promote and preserve the adversary system of justice and trial by jury; to promote and cultivate the spirit of the corporation and good fellowship among the members of this association; all to the end of fostering and maintaining the highest respect of the members of the community.

Griffin is experienced in complex litigation and insurance defense. He is a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, American Law Institute, International Association of Defense Counsel, American Bar Association, National Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, Mississippi Bar Association, Charles Clark American Inn of Court, Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association, Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit, Magnolia Bar Association, Capital Area Bar Association, Commercial Litigation and Financial Institutions Section and Community Foundation of Greater Jackson, Miss.

Griffin has received a Lifetime Achievement Selection by America’s Top 100 Attorneys® and has been recognized by Martindale-Hubbell® with an AV®– Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating.
