Sean M. McGuinness to Speak at the American Bar Association/International Masters of Gaming Law Conference

Butler Snow is pleased to announce that Sean M. McGuinness will speak at the American Bar Association (ABA)/International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL) Conference on March 7-9. McGuiness will serve on the Internet Gaming and Sports Betting in Indian Country panel.

The conference will take place March 7-9 at Aria Resort and Casino Hotel in Las Vegas and is sponsored by the Center for Professional Development, Criminal Justice Section, International Masters of Gaming Law and National Indian Gaming Association.

This Continued Legal Education (CLE) National Institute will discuss revolutionary legal, regulatory and ethical issues confronting both commercial and Native American gaming.

Gaming law attorneys, compliance officers, Native American leaders, regulators and legislators will convene to share valuable insights about the ever-changing field of gaming. Attendees will learn about global anti-corruption initiatives, examine gaming law versus gambling law, participate in panel discussion with the nation’s foremost gaming experts and gain practical knowledge about internet and online gaming.

McGuinness has extensive experience with complex mergers and acquisitions and regulatory mandates for casinos and gaming manufacturing companies. His previous practice involvement included commercial gaming and casinos, gaming and hospitality, hotels and resorts and real estate.

McGuinness is admitted to practice in Colorado, Iowa, Mississippi and Nevada. He received his bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and Juris Doctor from Drake University. McGuinness is a member of the International Masters of Gaming Law, the International Association of Gaming Advisors, the Colorado Bar Association (gaming entertainment and sports section), the Mississippi Bar (gaming law section) and the State Bar of Nevada (gaming law section).

McGuinness has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for gaming law and in Chambers USA for gaming and licensing. He is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and previously named in Mountain States Super Lawyers. McGuinness was named in the “Northern Nevada Best” by Nevada Business Magazine and in the “Top 75” by Legal Elite. He previously served as the chair for the American Bar Association gaming law committee, business law section.

McGuinness is a frequent speaker on the topic of gaming and will also be speaking on a panel sponsored by Drake Law School on March 6 and at the National Tribal Gaming Commissioners/Regulators conference March 20-22 at the Northern Quest Resort Casino.
