Butler Snow is pleased to announce that attorneys Chad R. Hutchinson and Joshua A. Hill have been selected as winners of a “2018 Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing Award” by the Burton Awards. Hutchinson and Hill’s submission, “Epidemiology and the NFL Collide,” was chosen from thousands of nominations by the nation’s top law firms as one of 25 winners. The article was originally published in Butler Snow’s quarterly pharmaceutical, medical device and healthcare publication, Pro Te: Solutio.

The Burton Awards, a non-profit program managed in association with the Library of Congress, annually honors excellent achievements in legal writing and reforms. Winners are chosen by a panel of law school professors and retired judges. The 2018 Burton Awards, presented by lead sponsor Law360 and co-sponsored by the American Bar Association (ABA), will be presented on May 21 at the Library of Congress. This is third time Pro Te: Solutio or an article appearing in it has been honored by the Burton Awards.  Butler Snow attorney Kari L. Sutherland was the recipient of a 2017 Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing for her article titled “Funding Litigation and Treatment: Leveling the Playing Field or Exploiting the Little Guy.” The publication was also the recipient of the 2009 Best Law Firm Publication award.

“We are very proud of Chad and Josh for receiving this prestigious award,” said Donald Clark, Jr., chairman, Butler Snow. “The goal of Pro Te: Solutio has always been to inform our clients on the wide range of issues and topics impacting the pharmaceutical, medical device and health care industry and to offer potential solutions for addressing those issues.  The excellent work done by Chad and Josh is but another example of the publication achieving its goal.”
