Louisiana Super Lawyers® Recognizes Butler Snow Attorneys S. Ault Hootsell III and Matthew P. Miller

Hootsell focuses his practice on bankruptcy and restructuring matters, as well as commercial litigation. He represents clients in commercial contract disputes, defense of lien rights, acquisitions and financial litigation matters. Hootsell has been named to Louisiana Super Lawyers® since 2007, and has been named in the Best Lawyers in America®, and Chambers USA. He is also AV-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Hootsell is board certified in business bankruptcy law and as a business and bankruptcy law specialist.

Hootsell is a member of the New Orleans Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Louisiana Bankers Association and International Association of Defense Counsel. He earned both his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University.

Miller focuses his practice on the area of tax and mergers and acquisitions. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers® as a Louisiana Super Lawyers® Rising Star in tax law since 2014, and by New Orleans Magazine as one of its “Top Lawyers in New Orleans” for his work in mergers and acquisitions and tax law. Miller was also named in “Ones to Watch in Law” by New Orleans CityBusiness. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, Jefferson Parish Chamber of Commerce, New Orleans Estate Planning Council and the Idea Village.

Miller is admitted to practice in New York and Louisiana. He received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University and his master’s in accounting with concentration in taxation from the University of New Orleans. Miller received his Juris Doctor from Loyola University and his master of law in taxation (LL.M.) from New York University. He is a board certified tax specialist from the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization.
