Butler Snow is pleased to announce that Andrew D. Tharp has joined the firm and will practice with the pharmaceutical, medical device and healthcare litigation team. Tharp previously served as an area defense counsel for the United States Air Force, and as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate.
Tharp will focus his practice on drug and device litigation at Butler Snow.
“Andrew is a great addition to the firm and our drug and device group,” said Donald Clark, Jr., chairman of Butler Snow. “His military and legal experience will be a real asset to our litigation teams.”
Tharp received his undergraduate education at Bowling Green State University before earning his Juris Doctor at the University of Toledo. During his career in the Air Force he tried 33 cases, earning acquittals on charges or had charges dropped 37 times. He also represented more than 800 clients in federal criminal investigations and disciplinary actions. Tharp also consistently ranked as one of the top lawyers in the U.S. Air Force, filling challenging roles usually reserved for more senior attorneys.
Tharp is a member of the Tennessee Bar, the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces and the Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals.
