Butler Snow Attorney Named to Board of Commissioners of The Mississippi Bar

Butler Snow Attorney Ashley N. Wicks has been named the Minority-At-Large Member of the Board of Commissioners of The Mississippi Bar.

“Ashley’s an accomplished attorney and is very involved in the legal community,” said Donald Clark, Jr., chairman of Butler Snow. “We’re proud that she’s been named to this position on The Mississippi Bar.”

Wicks is a member of Butler Snow’s business services group and the public finance, tax incentives, and credit markets group.  She focuses her practice on public finance, state and local taxation, and tax and estates.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in public administration from Jackson State University before completing her Juris Doctor at Tulane University, and her LL.M. in taxation at the University of Alabama.

Wicks was named to the Lawyers of Color “First Annual Hot List” in 2013, and has also been named a Mid-South Super Lawyers Rising Star for Tax Law. Wicks is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Capitol Area Bar Association, Jackson Young Lawyers, the Texas Bar Association, the Magnolia Bar Association (Immediate Past President), and serves on the board of directors for the Mental Health Association of the Capitol Area.

Members of the board of commissioners of The Mississippi Bar serve three-year terms. During this time, they work to promote excellence in the legal profession and justice system by ensuring that high standards of professionalism, civility, integrity, and ethical conduct are commonplace in the practice of law.
