Jones, Richmond and Thames Named Life Science Stars in LMG Life Sciences 2014

RIDGELAND, Miss., Aug. 26, 2014 – Butler Snow Attorneys Christy D. Jones and Orlando R. Richmond, Sr. along with recently retired attorney Lee Davis Thames have been named Life Science Stars in LMG Life Sciences 2014.

Jones and Richmond are members of the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare Practice Group at Butler Snow.

Jones serves clients in the areas of drug and medical device, product liability law and mass torts. She has served as national trial counsel representing various corporations and has tried cases throughout the United States. She is an A-V rated attorney by Martindale–Hubbell, and has been recognized for her work by Chambers USA, Mid-South Super Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America and is listed among the Law Dragon 500. Jones is also a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is a past Regent of Region 6. She is also a fellow of both the American Bar Foundation and the Mississippi Bar Foundation.

Richmond focuses on drug and medical device, product liability, medical liability defense and personal injury law. Richmond has served as lead counsel or co-counsel in numerous jury trials in state, federal and military venues. He has also participated in mass tort litigation involving pharmaceutical products and toxic and environmental issues. Richmond is an AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell whose work has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, Mid-South Super Lawyers and Benchmark Litigation Magazine among many others. He is a fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation and a member of the Mississippi Governor’s Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee.

Thames’ practice included the areas of product liability law, drug and medical device, class actions and mass tort litigation, commercial litigation and environmental liability law. With more than 200 trials to verdict in courts throughout the United States and in several foreign countries, he litigated important issues in all of these practice areas. He has also appeared before the Multi-District Litigation Panel and handled class actions in several different states. Thames is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and an AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell who has been recognized for his work by The Best Lawyers in America since its first edition, and by Chambers USA and Mid-South Super Lawyers. Thames is also a fellow of the American and Mississippi Bar Foundations and a retired Brigadier General in the United States Army Reserve.
