Modak-Truran Selected to Speak at the Litigation of America’s 2012 Fall Conference and Induction of Fellows

Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC (Butler Snow) Attorney Anita Modak-Truran has been selected to speak at the Litigation Counsel of America’s 2012 Fall Conference & Induction of Fellows. The conference will take place Oct. 24-26, 2012, at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla.

Modak-Truran is a member of the firm’s Product Liability Group and Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare Industry Team Her practice focuses on drug and medical device, product liability, copyright counseling and litigation and media and entertainment law.

“We congratulate Anita on being selected to speak at this event,” said Donald Clark, Jr. Chairman, Butler Snow. “It is a testament to her hard work in the field and the knowledge base that she has developed over her years of practice.”

Modak-Truran was named one of Mississippi’s 50 Leading Business Women by the Mississippi Business Journal in 2002, and is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and Trial Attorneys of America. She is also a participant in the ABA Minority Counsel Program and a graduate of the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy. Modak-Truran is a frequent speaker on entertainment and intellectual property issues and is a coach for the Entertainment Law Moot Court Team and the National Moot Court Team for Mississippi College School of Law.

Modak-Truran’s presentation will be made to Fellows of the LCA, a trial lawyer honorary society that represents less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Modak-Truran is a Fellow of the LCA.
