The STEP Private Client Awards highlight excellence among private client solicitors/attorneys, accountants, barristers, bankers, trust managers and financial advisors.  The judges from the Awards select up to five nominees as finalists in each category.  A panel of experts supports the judges and are comprised of internationally recognized lawyers, accountants, barristers and trust companies of the trust and estate community.   The judges consider several criteria in naming finalists; that criteria includes, but is not limited to, the following: demonstration of excellent, relationship driven client service; excellent leadership including a clear vision on how the firm has and should differentiate itself in the market; demonstration of technological innovation and demonstration of a wider social responsibility including a high standard of treatment of the firm’s staff.  The criteria for this year’s award is accessed for work conducted from May 2011 through June 2012.  Butler Snow was selected along with only two other North American law firms and one North American accounting firm for this honor.
