In addition to counseling clients on fraud and abuse and operational matters, Dawn regularly advises clients on HIPAA compliance programs and policies, breach and ransomware responses and other HIPAA risk assessments as well as compliance with and implementation of the federal No Surprises Act.
Prior to joining Butler Snow, Dawn clerked for the Honorable Bernice B. Donald of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. She is an Associate of the Leo Bearman, Sr. American Inn of Court and is active in the Memphis Bar Association (Board of Directors, 2020-2023, and Chair of Bench Bar Sponsorship Committee, 2022) and the American Bar Association (Vice Chair, Health Care Facilities Operations Interest Group, 2021-present), among other professional organizations. She is also active in community organizations including H.T. Lockard Foundation, Inc. (Board of Directors, 2018-Present) and REACH Memphis (Vice Chair, Board of Directors, 2021-present).
Dawn earned her J.D., cum laude, from The University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. She is admitted to the Tennessee State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee and the Sixth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals.
