Sidney Allen Jr. Recognized in 2023 Mississippi’s Top 50 Most Influential Leaders

Butler Snow is thrilled to announce that Sidney P. Allen, Jr., Senior Government Relations Advisor, has been recognized as one of the top government relations advisors in the state of Mississippi. Allen was included in the 6th Annual Mississippi Top 50 List (MSTop 50), an annual list of the people considered to be the most influential leaders in the state. This award is bestowed upon individuals who have helped move the conversation forward statewide and seeks to highlight exceptional work in lobbying and government relations.

This bipartisan selection of leaders comes from the ranks of elected and appointed officials, economic development professionals, business, media and government affairs. Nominees selected for MSTop 50 are amongst Mississippi’s tremendous talent pool in government, the political sphere, business, media and culture. The 6th Annual MSTop 50 Awards event took place on February 23, 2023, at the Old Capitol Inn in Jackson. 

Allen has over a decade of experience leading Butler Snow’s state government relations team in Mississippi and is a member of the firm’s Regulatory and Government Relations Group. Allen focuses on helping clients reach successful outcomes with their respective policy issues. These clients, ranging from education and healthcare entities to technology and media corporations, rely on Allen for his expertise and the relationships he’s effectively built over the last two decades in Washington D.C., the halls of the Mississippi State Capitol, and throughout the many agencies and organizations across state government.

Allen currently serves as the Finance Chairman for the Mississippi Republican Party and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Business and Industry Political Education Committee (BIPEC). He is known for his dedication to Mississippi, having served in many capacities in the non-profit world with the goal in mind of improving the quality of life for Mississippians. He has dedicated his time by serving as the President of The Phoenix Club of Jackson and as the Co-Chairman of the Tournament Committee for the Trustmark Children’s Hospital Golf Tournament, helping to raise over $2.5M for our state’s only children’s hospital.  Additionally, Allen serves on the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame & Museum and as an Advisory Board Member for First Commercial Bank in Jackson, MS.

Allen received his B.B.A. in Banking and Finance from the University of Mississippi before beginning his career in Washington, DC.
