Rebecca Wiggs Named 2024 Capital Area Bar Association Professionalism Award Winner

Butler Snow attorney Rebecca Wiggs has been recognized as a recipient of the 2024 Capital Area Bar Association (CABA) Professionalism Award for her extensive professional achievements, depth of experience, and true dedication to providing exceptional client service. Butler Snow attorney Orlando (Rod) Richmond, Sr. was the previous winner of the award in 2023.

The CABA Professionalism Award honors attorneys who demonstrate consistent adherence to professional standards of practice, ethics, integrity and civility. In addition, these individuals illustrate a clear commitment to the practice of law as a learned profession, vigorous representation of clients, and the attainment of the highest levels of knowledge and skill in law with a significant amount of time and resources contributed to public service. This notable award is amongst the highest honors within the CABA awards program.

As a member of Butler Snow’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare Litigation group, Rebecca focuses her practice on pharmaceutical product liability litigation. She has tried over 40 cases to jury verdicts in state and federal courts in Mississippi. In addition to pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, her courtroom experience also includes consumer finance litigation, trust management disputes, protection of permits for new manufacturing and wastewater treatment plants, and medical malpractice claims.

She was recognized by The Mississippi Bar with the 2021 Susie Blue Buchanan Award, which honors women who have achieved professional excellence and advanced opportunities for women, and she received the 2016 Woman Lawyer of the Year award from the Mississippi Women Lawyers Association. She was named one of Mississippi’s Leading Businesswomen by the Mississippi Business Journal, and Portico Jackson Magazine recognized her as a Legacy Lawyer.  She is listed by Chambers USABest Lawyers in America®, Super Lawyers®, Who’s Who Legal, and Benchmark Litigation (Top 250 Women in Litigation). She is AV® – Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell®.

Rebecca is a member of the American Bar Association, the Mississippi Bar, the Mississippi Women Lawyers Association, and the Capital Area Bar Association. She is also a Bencher on the Charles Clark American Inn of Court and has previously served as a commissioner and litigation section chair for the Mississippi Bar.

Rebecca earned her bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law.
