“Mary will bring tremendous value to the team in Austin,” said Christopher R. Maddux, chair of Butler Snow. “Her impressive background and experience in the public sector will be a great addition to our growing team and the services we provide our clients.”

Henderson previously served as the Deputy Division Chief and Senior Attorney for Charitable Trusts in the Office of the Attorney General of Texas’ Consumer Protection Division. Her experience there included General and Tort Litigation, which she will continue at Butler Snow.

In her long-time public service career, Henderson also worked with the Health & Human Services Commission and managed regulatory services for long-term healthcare providers across the state of Texas. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, she attended Baylor University School of Law. She subsequently served as a briefing attorney for the Thirteenth Judicial Court of Appeals in private practice and then as a General Law Section Attorney at the University of Texas System.

Butler Snow’s Tort, Transportation and Specialized Litigation group practices across a variety of industries and practice areas, representing companies in a broad range of industries, including financial institutions, manufacturers, retailers and professional services. The group also works with self-insured clients, companies defending litigation under a large SIR, and major insurers and claim administration companies. The group advocates for and counsels public and private clients on complex litigation matters, including trucking and automobile accident cases, commercial and industrial premises liability, workplace accidents and exposure claims, medical and other professional negligence, alleged business and consumer fraud, breach of warranty or lemon law claims and much more. Along with providing specialized expertise to clients, attorneys and advisors have represented clients before state agencies and regulatory bodies.
