Lee Adair Floyd and Mitchell K. Morris Named Leaders by Virginia Lawyers Weekly

Butler Snow attorneys Lee Adair Floyd and Mitchell K. Morris have been recognized by Virginia Lawyers Weekly as an “Up & Coming Lawyer” and “Leader in the Law,” respectively. Virginia Lawyers Weekly is Virginia’s leading, statewide legal news source.

As an “Up & Coming Lawyer,” Floyd is one of 17 attorneys from across the commonwealth who are making a mark within their first 10 years of practice and are considered leaders of the future profession.

Morris is one of 30 “Leaders in the Law” who have been selected for setting the standard for other Virginia lawyers. “Leaders” are recognized for changing the law, serving the community, changing practice or improving Virginia’s justice system, among other accomplishments.

Floyd is part of the firm’s Products, Catastrophic & Industrial Litigation practice group. She provides expert counsel to manufacturers in high exposure product liability claims in Virginia and throughout the United States. Floyd works primarily with automobile, pharmaceutical and industrial manufacturers providing defense counsel nationally and locally. She also provides trial counsel for energy producers in mass tort litigation ranging from catastrophic loss to environmental claims.

Floyd has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America®, Super Lawyers® and Benchmark Litigation. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the West Virginia State Bar, the Defense Research Institute and the Product Liability Advisory Council. Floyd previously served as the West Virginia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division President and is a member of DRI’s Products Liability Subcommittee. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and her Juris Doctor from West Virginia University College of Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the West Virginia Law Review.

Morris practices within Butler Snow’s Products, Catastrophic & Industrial Litigation and Commercial Litigation groups. He regularly represents clients in high-exposure traumatic injury, wrongful death, intentional tort, environmental, pharmaceutical and complex commercial matters. Morris also devotes a significant part of his practice to combatting fraud and abuse in mass and class actions. He represents clients nationally and has appeared in state or federal courts in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Missouri, New York and California.

Morris completed his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia and earned his Juris Doctor from Washington & Lee University School of Law. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers®Best Lawyers in America® and The Legal 500 U.S. Morris is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Richmond Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar.
