Christy Jones Receives 2023 Commitment to Justice Award from U of A School of Law Alumni Society

Butler Snow attorney Christy D. Jones has been selected as one of two alums from the University of Arkansas (U of A) School of Law to receive the 2023 Commitment to Justice Award. Nominees are reviewed based on demonstrated volunteerism with the School of Law alumni or academic programs, advisory committees, awards received, as well as notable accomplishments and service to their community. The Law Alumni Society Board will honor the 2023 recipients at the Awards Dinner on April 15, 2023, during the School of Law Alumni Reunion Weekend.

Jones, who is now Of Counsel at the firm, focused her practice on pharmaceutical and medical device litigation. With an impressive career spanning more than 40 years, Jones is widely regarded as one of the nation’s most respected trial attorneys. In addition, Jones is well-known by her peers as a trailblazer and mentor for generations of female lawyers.

Jones has served as national trial counsel representing various corporations and has tried cases throughout the United States. In many of these instances, she served as lead counsel in bellwether trials. With extensive accolades, experience, and participation in several associations within the legal sphere, Jones exemplifies a commitment to justice both in her work with clients and her involvement in education.

Jones is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Attorneys and a regular contributor to the U of A Law Dean’s Fund for Excellence, the Law Student Emergency Fund. She is also an active member of the Arkansas Law Review Academy. While at Butler Snow, Jones led the charge in creating the Christy D. Jones Endowed Scholarship Fund, which provides financial support to law students with a demonstrated interest in litigation.

Jones earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Arkansas and obtained her Juris Doctor from the School of Law.
