Butler Snow is pleased to announce that Alison T. Vance has rejoined the firm’s Ridgeland office as a member of its Labor and Employment Group. Vance represents employers in employment litigation and advises on complex workplace matters, including investigations, workforce restructurings and sensitive personnel decisions.

With more than two decades of experience representing and advising employers, Vance brings the perspective of both outside counsel and a former senior in-house legal executive. She began her legal career at Butler Snow and later spent more than a decade in senior corporate legal roles, giving her a practical understanding of the legal, operational and business considerations that shape employment decisions.

Vance advises employers on a broad range of workplace matters, including EEOC and state agency matters, internal investigations, reductions in force and restructurings, discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, accommodations and leaves of absence, wage-and-hour matters, executive employment and separation issues, workplace policies and handbooks, HR compliance and employee training. She also advises on the employment aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic transactions.

During her in-house career, she advised executives and HR leaders on significant employment matters and played an integral role in large-scale workforce transformations and restructurings and the employment aspects of major corporate transactions. Today, she draws on that experience to help clients develop practical strategies that align with their business priorities and operational needs.

Vance earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Mississippi, where she served as Executive Mississippi Cases Editor of the Mississippi Law Journal. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English, with high honors, from the University of Southern Mississippi.
