Since 1991, the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association (TCWLA) has given grants to non-profit organizations protecting the legal rights of women and children. In 2002, TCWLA formed the Travis County Women Lawyers Foundation to serve as the official fundraising and grant-awarding arm of TCWLA. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation stating its purpose to “support, promote, and encourage activities for the furtherance of justice and equal opportunity for women, families, and children.”
This year’s Annual Grants and Awards Luncheon brought together 400+ members of the greater Austin legal community to celebrate strong women in the law and give back in a big way. The Foundation made history this year by awarding a record-breaking $100,000 in grants to local nonprofits providing legal and related services to women, children, and families in Central Texas.
Serving as a Platinum sponsor, Butler Snow was well represented, with Sara Berkeley Churchin serving as Grants Co-Chair, Mary Henderson as Venue Co-Chair, and Melissa Lorber as President-Elect of TCWLA.
